About Liva Insurance Company (formerly Alalamiya)
Liva Insurance Company, previously known as “Alalamiya Cooperative Insurance Company,” was established as a Saudi joint-stock company. The company was founded under the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (5) dated 8/1/1430 AH (5/1/2009 AD) and Royal Decree No. (M/2) dated 9/1/1430 AH (6/1/2009 AD) to engage in cooperative insurance activities. The company’s initial capital was SAR 200,000,000, divided into 20,000,000 ordinary shares with a nominal value of SAR 10 per share. Later, on 15/3/1436 AH (6/1/2015 AD), the company’s capital was increased to SAR 400,000,000.
Alalamiya was established by founding partners: Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance (Middle East), a closed joint-stock company registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, owning 50.07% of the company, and Riyad Bank, a Saudi joint-stock company, owning 19.92% of the company. Additionally, prominent Saudi investors own 0.01%, while 30% of the capital was allocated to public investors. On November 7, 2023, the company announced its name change to Liva Insurance Company.
